Warped Isla Del Cocodrilo Toro (FreeSep24)

Which one is better?! This blend comes in only 2 sizes, the corona gorda and the toro. I reviewed the corona gorda a couple days ago. Let's see how this toro compares.

In the interest of transparency, I prefer smaller ring gauges, lonsdales, coronas, corona gordas. However, I recognize that a blend can taste better in a larger ring gauge from time to time depending on the blend.

First third, starts of with some pepper, surprisingly, along with vanilla cream, cedar and a slight custard flavor. The body is shy of medium and smoke texture is slightly airy.

Second third, the body ticks up to medium with vanilla cream, earth and roasted nuts. The pepper is long gone at this point and smoke texture is smooth. I notice that I'm having to puff the cigar 2 to 3 times to get a good amount of smoke but the cigar is remaining cool and burning straight.

Final third gets a bit darker. The cedar is more of an oak, there is a fruity flavor that has entered, leather, black pepper but no sting just flavor and vanilla cream. I had to touch up the burn once but otherwise great construction.

My final rating is a 72, box worthy. This is a great blend in general. Which is better? The corona gorda is better in my opinion. The smoke texture was more velvety and flavors seemed sweeter and more intense than in the toro. While I enjoyed both vitolas, my experience with the cg was definitely better. I still have 1 more of both that I will smoke in a week or so before I pull the trigger on a box but, all in all, this is probably the best Warped blend out there at this point and one that, both, probably gets better with age and is a good NC blend for those whom enjoy CC's.

I thought the Corona Gorda was better. The Bits of Havana cigars, are way out there better, if you have not tried them. Best by Warped by a mile.

Anyone tried the "Bird on a Rose" blend? Looks to be one of their newer offerings.

I haven't, nor have I heard of it. Is it a full release or just part of the small batch releases they do on their website?

@Coloniales, which Bits of Havana? The Drop robusto or the box pressed toro with the maduro that is in stores?

Yes, the Bits of Havana Robusto, terrific value. Not a true robusto, but great nonetheless. I just bought the Lanceros which are full on and good. Dropcigarclub!
