We had discussed it in another thread but nobody seems to know. Are those 25000 new Carmens another batch or did they have to split up the original boxes?😁

The way the article is reading it seems like they weren't moving the 25k load ups and have reboxed them.

It was supposed to be 250 humidors of 100 or 25,000 sticks.

This new release is 2,500 boxes of 10 or 25,000 sticks.

So, unless they scrapped and reboxed every single humidor, this is not a reboxing.

Hard to imagine them throwing away all those expensive empty humidors, also.

If anything I would speculate that Dupont had never delivered on the full 250 humidors, and as they weren't moving they instead decided to put the balance of the sticks into boxes, but as I say if the release numbers are accurate they don't support that idea.

The Carmen, with its distinctive size and connection to Spanish culture, continues to be a prized addition to the Montecristo portfolio.

Measuring 7 1/8 inches by 49 ring gauge, the Carmen is a rare format known as Paco in Cuban cigar factories. This size is not commonly produced, making it a standout in the Montecristo line. The cigar’s name, Carmen, pays homage to Bizet’s famous opera, further cementing its cultural ties to Spain.

This release also celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Royal Tobacco Factory of Seville, a historic institution considered to be Europe’s first tobacco factory and now part of the University of Seville. The connection to such a storied location adds another layer of prestige to the Montecristo Carmen.

Despite the increased accessibility, the Montecristo Carmen remains a limited edition item.
