JoeyBones777 Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 I'm a huge Oscar Valladares fan. One of my favorite cigars is the 2012 Connecticut toro. I've had this cigar in the past and remember enjoying it but I smoked it in my car and didn't give it the proper attention. First third is cedar, cream and rock candy. There is some nuts on the finish and the retrohale is sweet and smooth. The smoke is creamy, draw is perfect and burn is straight. Second third required a touch up on the burn. I'm not sure what happened here but, all of a sudden, I need to take 3 draws to get any smoke. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be overheating the cigar. Flavors have shifted a bit with earth, peanut shells, a touch of pepper, a touch of leather, cream and rock candy. It almost feels like I'm fighting to keep it lit but it hasn't gone out, despite me resting it between puffs to try and let it cool. Final third and the draw is back! The rock candy sweetness goes to the background. The flavors are earth, peanut shells, cedar, light cream, nuts, coffee and light leather. Overall, this is a very good cigar. I rate it an 89. I love the size, it performed well, for the most part, good complaxity and flavor. This cigar is a little pricier than the 2012, which to me is a slightly better blend at a better price point. However, it is enjoyable and worth a smoke. 3 1
