The Por Larranaga Picadores is an interesting cigar. Released in 2014, this Hermoso Number 4 has never quite captivated the imagination of the buying public….well at least not to the same level as it’s siblings and pure Robusto cousins.

It has now been 10 years since the Por larranaga Picadores has been released and so we can certainly give our opinions on how it's progression in terms of ageing has tracked.

We want to hear of your experiences with the Picadores. Have you seen your boxes transition over time? If so, how?

How do they comapre to other hermoso Number 4 and Robusto's in your eyes?

 Do you enjoy them?

I’ve had a few boxes of these over probably the last seven years or so. I voted it a ‘good cigar that ages moderately well’ and is ready fairly quickly.

I do find it a useful cigar though, and one that I occasionally have a distinct itch for. It’s very accessible, and good for those newish to Cubans. To me more like a sweeter and less earthy version of the Partagas D4 than anything else in the PL line. Never a wow cigar, but quite reliably satisfying. Decently priced too in comparison to the big names.

I'm a really big fan. Haven't smoked the earlier box codes, but I wish I had. One of the few boxes I picked up additionally before all the price hikes and lack of inventory. Totally off the general public's buying radar like virtually all PL cigars.

My cat and I are also big fans. But I can't really speak to the aging. I mostly buy them and smoke them within a year.

They are great with little aging. The first box I have no intention of aging beyond going its normal course. The 2nd box I have is vacuum sealed. Who knows when if ever I'll get to them.
