Some Cuban Cigars lose their taste after 10 years

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I would like to discuss my experience with you. My humidor is a 65/65 raching and I have bought RA Gigantes 2015. They really don’t have much taste, even half way through and in the first half they taste like air. However, I have Monte 2 2019 and the first 5 puffs don’t taste like anything, then after that I start getting some Cuban taste. Anyways these boxes; I have bought them 2 years ago maybe the humidor condition in lcdh wasn't that great.

Cheers everyone

I think like everything else it depends. Intended blend, actual blend, storage conditions, etc. The only way one could make that claim is to purchase a box, and smoke them over the course of 10+ years. If the theory holds, they will peak and then decline significantly by the 10yr mark. I personally have many boxes 10+ years that smoke fantastic. Just had a Fonseca #1 from 2014 that was marshmallow, creamy, floral goodness.

Would love to hear from those that have been at this for 10, 15, 20+ years.
