Popular Post JoeyBones777
This is my last from the box and my last HDM in general. The last one I smoked was 2 years ago. The draw is perfect and the first few puffs start off creamy in texture and flavor. There is toasted tobacco, white pepper, cedar and a slight caramel sweetness. The finish is quite long and mostly cream but leather comes in at the end of the cream. A quite good start. End of the first third and what was a sweet cream is now more of a sweet spiced cream with cinnamon and cardamon. The cedar picked up a touch and the caramel backed off a bit. The second third continues with the spiced cream, cedar has backed off a bit and a slightly floral sweetness has come in on the retro. The toasted tobacco has come back in to play. The burn has needed a couple touch ups at this point. In the final third the creaminess has died down a little bit and the sweet spices ramp up a bit. There is an underlying sweetness along with the cedar and white pepper. There is a bit of strength, enough to match the body, both at about medium. It required a couple more touch ups. Overall, it is a very good cigar and the best from the box. The 6+ years did it well and it still has legs for more age. I give it a 93-94. If the combustion and burn were better it would have been a 95 cigar. Good stuff!
