Prior to January 2nd, 1959 manufacturers in Cuba were independent. In other words, there was a free market system. Can one even contemplate 140 brands for export and 1185 vitolas in production? Furthermore, imagine a scenario were Cuba ousts their communist system because they can't go any lower, they reform their political processes and families of the calibre of Padron, Arturo Fuente and E.P Carillo return to Cuba to produce cigars?

I know, I know...it's far-fetched. Tell me I'm dreaming and my hopes are but mere 'pipe dreams'. But isn't real life sometimes stranger than fiction? I mean, there's always a possibility. Were we awaiting the dismantling of the Soviet Union and the Cold War bloc in Europe at the beginning of the 80s? Short answer...'no', but it did happen.

I think I need a cigarette after imagining the Fuentes running HSAs QC

Those families would never return to Cuba, period. Under any type of gov't there. I know, you are just pipe dreaming. Cuba is too far gone unfortunately.
