Cool moment for me: Tito was performing at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and everyone was singing along with him even including the teenagers, screaming out "Tito!" between songs. Speaking to fans after the show, I found out that it is common to Caribbean and South American cultures for young and old to listen to a lot of the same music and know all the songs of the great artists. One of the best shows I've seen and the Jazz tent was really rocking that day. Jimmy Smith had the tough job of following him (and was great also.) JazzFest is IMO the greatest music festival and I highly recommend it. 11 stages of music, food, crafts and culture.

Love the playlist titles on the threads. Easy for me to find after a bourbon or 4. Thanks! 👍🏻😎

After thought: music thread? No laughing. I'm only on the third bourbon. 😂

Tito Puente, a true boss. The Mambo Kings is a must watch film. Another great old NY Latin story. He trascended jazz and salsa and viceversa. I love his work with Hector Lavoe and Willie Colon also. A gem.
