Popular Post MagicalBikeRide Posted January 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 20, 2024 Yesterday’s D4 had me reaching for another robusto. And one I’ve been enjoying in recent months. The sun came out and whilst cold (just below 0°C), I took one out for a stroll as the sun started to set - the kids were with the mother in law, so I snapped at the opportunity. The cigar was from a three pack of tubos with a ‘22 H&F stamp. Don’t have more info than that. Overall - perfect Cuban / tight-ish draw - nice nutty aroma - needed a single touch-up - ideal otherwise - darker wrapper than I typically see - subtle rather than mild (if that makes sense?) -1- Opened with strong cedar / cherry wood aroma, tons upon tons of cream, hints of honey and something floral that I’m bad at describing. Great smoke output, firmly mild When we were kids, my mother would make hot porridge on winter mornings. After boiling the oats in water, she’d add cream, honey and a little salt - the first third of this cigar brought back memories of this. -2- Woody-ness on the retro (no pepper in sight), still boat loads of cream, sweetness dying down a little and some brown spice type notes making an occasional appearance (maybe cinnamon, cardamom or that brown all-spice I find at the Asian markets here?) Still tons of smoke and stepping up toward medium -3- A lot of the same notes as second third, but increased intensity in the brown spices and more subdued honey notes, cream still there, still retrohaling with pleasure - a banging finish and certainly medium or slightly above Cracking cigar all round. My only regret was not pairing with a Guinness - as I love the HdM cream and Guinness cream combination. So I attempted to fix that by stopping on way home (I live ~50m from a nice pub and had 30 mins to spare before the rugrats were delivered back to the house). Enjoyable two hours to myself. 15 1

99call Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Taytos are Cheese and Onion Irish crisps that they are so obsessed with, that they sell them crunched up into chocolate bars. The Devil's work 2 1

The Devil's work Holy macaroons. I would never in my life have expected anything like this! Lol The Irish making crisps, naturally. I'll have to hunt some down. My earlier post was off course a nod to the fact we have Germano-Turkish stuff here in London before we get Irish produce. 1
MagicalBikeRide Posted January 21, 2024 Author Posted January 21, 2024 An interesting fact - there are two types of Tayto - one for sale in Ireland and one that is exported (at least to the north of Ireland). They have a different logo for the little man on the bag. Also taste different. Have never researched why it is this way. 1
ha_banos Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Well look what wife found. No chocolate but still. 2

We have a mixed pack so looking forward to working through the others. I think I set my expectations to high. And the bags are almost empty to begin with! 25g EU standards can F*** R**** O**! 1
MagicalBikeRide Posted January 25, 2024 Author Posted January 25, 2024 I still maintain that you guys get the export version and we just keep the good stuff at home 😅 1
