H Upmann NC (AshRWC)

I’m not going to review any particular cigar. This is a shoutout to my faithful Upmann ashtray that I won in an event raffle at my old hang in Tampa. I am fairly certain that this has been featured in every review I’ve ever posted. It has hosted the good, the bad and the unsmokable.

My personal humor is also tied to this. At the event where I acquired it, I had invited a friend from Naples, Florida to join me. Let’s just say for every $100 I make, Kent makes $5000. He put me on his insurance and lent me his twin-engine Piper Comanche so I could get my multi engine-complex-high performance rating added to my pilot’s license. Not many people would do that. We’re those kind of mates! The point I am trying to make is that he can easily afford the finer things in life.

After enjoying a smoke together that evening, it was time for the drawing. 1st place was some sort of high-end lighter, cutter, ashtray, and a box of Opus X. Certainly a $1500 grand prize! Other prizes were boxes of premium sticks, lesser (+/-$350) lighters, etc. 

The last ticket drawn was for the Upmann branded ashtray. 

You’ll never guess who won the grand prize. Yep, the man who could afford to buy it all and never miss it from his loose-change drawer, my buddy Kent! I couldn’t help but laugh!!!😂 Every time I set a cigar down in this ashtray I think of that night and those days, fondly.
