Popular Post BigGuns Posted December 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2023 I had the pleasure of getting together with a couple gents from the tasting panel this afternoon and pulled out the new N8 Churchill. Such a great cigar! "Refined" is the perfect adjective. Nice looking cigar with a Colorado wrapper and a perfectly applied cap. The wrapper is pretty smooth with even seams. Cold aroma is a subtle sweet cocoa and the draw is right down the middle - not too loose, not too tight. Tastes like good quality tobacco. 1/3 - Upon lighting it gives a smooth clean NC tobacco taste. Burn is smooth and the body is light. Ash consistently holds for at least an inch (likely more, but I didn't want to push it). There is a ton of smoke and it has a great "mouth feel". Picking up some buttered toast. Toward the end of the third it found its way to a medium body. 2/3 - A hint of sweetness comes in, but nothing overwhelming. A solid balance of savory/sweet - not too much of either. It has a good clean tobacco flavor and the smoke continues to be plentiful. Burn remains consistent and the ash stays solid. To my surprise, I picked up a nice twang toward the end of this third! 3/3 - The smooth clean smoke continues. Maintained a solid medium profile throughout and carried it to the end. Didn't get harsh and it burned my fingertips. This was a great afternoon cigar. Total smoke time was just over 2 hours and I only reached for my lighter twice - once to light it and once near the end to touch up the burn. A solid smoke that was consistent throughout. No harshness and no bold bursts of flavor, but a consistent savory buttery-ness that kept me engaged and enjoying it. Smoke volume remained plentiful throughout and the burn was consistent. A fantastic way to spend some time chit-chatting about football, the tobacco industry, cooking and holiday traditions. A solid 90-pointer I just realized I didn't snap a single photo...my bad...pics aren't my forte, as my wife would attest to! 11 1
