I can't recall seeing fake half coronas outside of Siglo 1 and maybe Monte 5. I am sure there are, but let's ask all members. Chime in where you can. 

Would it make sense?  At today's prices, probably does. ROI would be lower but scrutiny probably less.

There will come a point where it is financially attractive for fakers, but I’ve personally never seen any. And I smoke a lot of shorties - HUHC and Monte MC in almost equal measure. 
 

Although I buy exclusively from maybe 2-3 retailers total, so my exposure to fakes in the round is very low.

Could there be a return on investment- sure. What I question would be volume and opportunity. Tourists and other buyers who fall victim to Glass top Cohibas and fake behikes aren’t really looking at HUHC or RASCC are they? Sure as El Pres says maybe siglo I or Monte 5 but still I doubt the volume and oppty.

Looking at the maths on this. 

Cigars: .60 each.  (You aren't going to go to too much trouble outside of the wrapper} $15 total. 

Box/bands/seals etal.....I am guessing $ 13-15 if done in bulk. 

Shipping/logistics....15 cents a cigar. $3.75 a box. 

You need a volume seller. HUHC works on some level. Trinidad Reyes would be the obvious one. Pump those out at $250-$299 and you would have that. 

"Clearance", "Overstock". They would need a story. 

Including shipping, making $200-$250 USD a box (Reyes) certainly makes it worth the effort for the unscrupulous.
