Popular Post david9985 Posted May 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 29, 2023 It was a very pleasant and still evening on Saturday, perfect conditions for a patio smoke. Having gone through a long period of not smoking any RyJ, I have to admit I've got a bit of a taste for them again, finding them reliable and consistent and enjoying their typical profile. This example was firm (rock solid) on the pre-cut squeeze and I anticipated it being plugged. After cutting though, the draw was bang on, just a slight resistance. Opening draws produced plenty of smoke and mostly savoury cereal notes. The typical turkish delight that I have enjoyed so much in others of these was conspicuous by it's total absence. Neither was there a woodiness that I often get. The draw remained perfect throughout and the burn was well behaved, requiring touch-ups only after periods of relative inactivity. There wasn't a lot of evolution from first to second thirds. Despite this, and the absence of the usual good qualities of this marca, this stick was surprisingly enjoyable and moreish. Mostly savoury, some sweetness appeared every few draws and it really worked in keeping my interest! The final third saw the intensity of the flavour rise significantly and was the most enjoyable portion of the cigar. Sadly this only lasted for a few minutes before it lost it's way a little and I was happy to set it down after a good 1hr 20min enjoyment. In summary, despite being unlike others from the box and the typical profile, this was thoroughly enjoyable. I look forward to my next RyJ! 5
