El Presidente Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 T B Carlin Vuelta Abajo "K" piramides Approx 6 1/4" length and 46 ring gauge. Presumed late 1960's. These cigars are the epitome of a splendid vintage Havana, full flavour, medium strength, easy draw and complex smoking experience. T. B. Carlin was one of the great cigar merchants ranking alongside Robert Lewis, Fribourg & Treyer and Alfred Dunhill. Founded in 1825 they traded for much of their time in Regent Street and then in Park Place, St James’s before being bought by Robert Lewis in 1974. They held several Royal Warrants and numbered Napoleon III amongst their customers. https://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/carlin-vuelta-abajo-piramides-late-1960s-p-4692.html#:~:text=T. Popular Post Ryan Posted May 28, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 28, 2023 JJ Fox acquired a lot of of T.B. Carlin stock when they bought out Robert Lewis. Still quite a bit in a basement in St. James's in London. Not as much as there used to be. I got to have a look / inspection of a lot of it about 12 years ago. There were some beautiful examples of the Vuelta Abajo "K" piramides. Looked like they were rolled the year before. Some of it got into the market in the late 2000s. Not many T.B. Carlins have been sold since then. Like a lot of these things, they should be better known than they are. That affects their value. Not enough people know about them or the history of this kind of retailer stock. 3 2
