Popular Post Sir Diggamus Posted May 28, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 28, 2023 This cigar was a gift from a coworker who visited Cuba in early 2019 and brought back a RyJ no2 and RyJ no3 for me since she knew I liked cigars. I smoked the no 2 a few months after receiving it and vowed to keep the no 3 for a few more years to experience it with a few years of age on it. The cigar looks great right out of the tube. It didn't have the green spots and blotchy marks on the wrapper that the no 2 did. After a sniff I smell and the cold draw I smell and taste only tobacco and not much else, so I put flame to it. The first 1/3 opens with a little cedar and a hint of that cherry note I associate with RyJ. The draw is fine and the cigar is producing a good amount of smoke. After about 1/2 inch in the cigar begins to burn uneven and starts to canoe. I use the lighter to try and fix it and it seems to even out after several more puffs and touchups. The cherry note becomes more prominent and a little spiced cream is in the mix now. The 2/3 is much like the end of the 1/3 with the cherry note upfront and a little spiced cream on the finish. Very enjoyable flavors. It goes out on me a few more times and requires a few touchups but nothing major The last 1/3 starts with the spiced cream note taking center stage and leaving a nice sweet cream note on the long finish. The remainder of the cigar finishes the same way in terms of flavor and little issue with the burn. This isn't a cigar I ever went deep on but would be welcomed in the humidor as one to have every now and again 87 points 5
