Devo15 Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I was wondering what everyone thought of the Cuban tobacco that CdH sells as a cheaper alternative to the expensive Cubans? We were recently in one store in Mexico and near the Epicures they had an unbanded option for about 30-40% of the cost. They said the leaves were the same, but rolled in house instead of in Cuba. They had a few of these unbanded options, one H Upmann option and I think a Cohiba. $16-$30/cigar is quite a bit better than $40-$80, but I was wondering if this was truly the same tobacco and what you thought about them in general? We did try a few and they were very nice, maybe a little loose on the roll but really nice flavor and draw.

There are a lot of strange things happening in mexico re cuban cigars currently 7 1 1
BrightonCorgi Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Just take those cigars for what they are with no pretense of being something else & enjoy. 3 1

In all seriousness if you ask them they'll tell you it's Behike leaf too. I've heard it. Anything said in a Mexican LCDH should be taken with a giant boulder of salt. 1
