Popular Post Russell Posted December 31, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 31, 2022 This week I acquired a partial box of Padrón 1926 no. 35s (natural) from the late 2000s. And I was excited, to say the least, because I’ve never smoked a Padrón with some age. I started the cigar paired with a ginger ale but quickly realized that it was too over powering rather than complimenting, so I switched to a vanilla cream soda. If this cigar could be summed up with one word, smooth. Oak dominates the first half with very little spice on the retrohale. Plum/Raisins come through nicely and a slight leather background. Beginning of second half starts with the oakiness transitioning to a more musty moss. But in a good way. Some saltiness comes through. Fullness picks up. Raisins turn to more of a licorice. Last few puffs came some strong floral notes. I’d give it a 92/100. Better with age? I don’t know, but it was still a damn fine cigar. 15 1

SCgarman Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Padron 1926's are already aged for 5 years before they are boxed. So there is really no advantage to continually age them. They are ready to smoke out of the box, as opposed to Habanos. The 1964's are aged for 4 years. I think they are a bit more chocolatey, but they all basically are top notch sticks. 2
medzikone Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I had an opportunity to smoke No.35 once. Still waiting to recover my fingerprints 1
