Popular Post Boxer31 Posted December 28, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 28, 2022 Christmas Eve after great food (Feast of the Fishes, not sure if we had 7 or just 6) & wine. We made a couple of the appetizers - shrimp cocktail, smelts, baccala cakes (I cheated this yr using fresh cod). Then for dinner, we ordered a few different platters from our local Italian restaurant (they live in our neighborhood) and they do Christmas Eve feast of the 7 fishes. Then for dessert, wife’s homemade Italian cookies. Then she hit me with big surprise- can have a cigar in the house since it is too cold. Well after the shock of my first cigar in the house - had to setup, open window by dining room table and maybe a fan (probably looked like a fool but who cares I can have a cigar in the house!!) So then what to smoke - this called for a CoRo (did not want to get greedy and pull out Espy). It was a HQ from our host. Aroma was sweet tobacco, citrus and cookie dough Cold draw hay/grass, lemon cookie - possibly still tasting the cookies (Italian lemon cookies) It’s cold outside (maybe 10 degrees). After lighting, felt like a kid looking for presents before Xmas. First third - tasting hay/wood, cedar/sweet tobacco, some citrus. Burn and draw are good. Can’t believe how cold it is even inside since I am trying to blow smoke out the window but it seems its coming back inside. Wife is laughing at this picture (but she did not tell me to go outside which is a plus) puppy had to jump up and see what I was doing (yes - she should not be up on table but then again I was having cigar in the house, so I cut her some slack) 2nd third - getting sweet espresso now and creamy tobacco. Its probably the cold not being able to get all the flavors. In past more of an “orangey” citrus but this time getting lemon but that has to be the lemon cookies with icing. No complaints here, except for the cold. Last third - tasting same flavors, maybe getting a little drier though, but still excellent. Fingers are numb and house does have a little CoRo odor but no complaints!!! Will rate this one a 93. Weather looking warmer for New Years. 17
