Andreas Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Hi guys I have a box of H Upmann Conno B (TUE Oct 2021) and I was wondering when to break it open? I have already had 1 or 2 from the box but they didn't seem ready. Would love to hear your opinions on when they are in the sweet spot when it comes to age and how you feel they are evolving with a little bit of age. Thanks for your inputs. 😀
NSXCIGAR Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I've not found any Connie to need more than a year. It's possible you got a sub-par box which isn't shocking with Connie B. I've had plenty of lousy ones. 2
Bords Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I’ve found a huge positive change at 3 yr for Connie b. Went deep a while back and now glad I did! 2019 cabs were “eh” back then but now some of my best smokes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CigarZen Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 I have a few boxes and really like them when new - very flavorful then at year 1 to 3 or so, went deadish seem like coming back after year 3 or so. I hope will age up. HU historically needed time, though that has changed some lately
alex1126 Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Had my first one 2 weeks ago from a SEP 21 box, not sure if it was underfilled or what but it smoked a bit too airy. I am used to upmanns having a nice firm construction, not in this case. Going to let them sit for a while.
Andreas Posted December 19, 2022 Author Posted December 19, 2022 Thanks guys. Appreciate the inputs. I will try one out in the following week. If it's 'meh' I guess I will leave them for a couple of years.
Andreas Posted December 25, 2022 Author Posted December 25, 2022 Just had it tonight. Really nutty and almost nougat-ish in the first half. Second half left more to be desired. I guess I will be resting them for a year or two before tugging in for real.
