Popular Post Ford2112 Posted December 5, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 5, 2022 I am a big Padron fan. I think they represent the best in Nicaraguan tobacco. You can always expect flawless construction and blend consistency here. This toothy bastard has been hiding in my humidor for months. I forgot I had it. Here goes. At cold the aroma is leather and a hint of cocoa. It seems pretty mellow. 1st third is mellow tobacco and earth, cocoa and sweet spice. Almost a cinnamon like character coming through. Tons of smoke output and smooth earthy tobacco on the retrohale. I would say it's just over medium body, but full in flavor. 2nd third. This sucker is picking up some steam now! White pepper has joined the party along with the leather and toasted cocoa. Ash fell off after about 2 inches. Excellent smoke. I paired this with a latte. Final third. Perfect draw. The last one I had was a bit of a wind tunnel. This one is clocking in at around 40 minutes at this point. Killer ash. Lots of sweet spices and pepper . That cocoa leather core is still there but the spice has those taking a back seat. The retro is not harsh but it's also not a cigar for pantywaists or sissies! I have little idea of what I'm talking about now lol. Perfect ash on this cigar. It is smoking rather fast at this point. I need to slow down. Final thoughts. It's an easy 92 pointer. Maybe would be higher were it not smoking so fast. I preferred the 1964 I had recently to this one as it has gotten pretty burly. Still enjoyable. Padron cigars are in my top favorites when it comes to NCs . 16
brutusthebuckeye Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Solid review. Makes me want to go to my local and buy one. It’s been years since I smoked a Padron 26. 1
Ford2112 Posted December 5, 2022 Author Posted December 5, 2022 The 1964 I had was a couple notches better. But you can't go wrong with either
Vetteman Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Nice review. One of my top 5 NC cigars. I like the 1964 also, but prefer the 26.
hrs1 Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Great review! Love Padron & I'm partial to the 1964. Revisited the 1926 no 1 over the summer after letting the box rest for a couple years and was very pleasantly surprised. Curious how much better these will get with age.
Ford2112 Posted December 5, 2022 Author Posted December 5, 2022 @hrs1 me too. I will probably get a box of these to hide away . It's just easy for me to get singles at the local B&M. 1
Capn_Jackson Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Love Padron. I have a number of 1-2 year aged 1926’s and 1964’s, in the natural wrapper. Excellent almond, cocoa, and coffee flavors, along with some dried fruit usually. So good. Thanks for the good read! 1
