ChangBang Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Got this box about a year and a half ago and have smoked one so far, figure this time is as good as any to see how they're progressing. My note from when I got them was that it was pleasant but was really wood dominated. Did note that my previous one was plugged near the band. Initially, I tried to smoke this on Thursday but it was way too tight and I didn't feel like drilling into it. Hoped dry boxing it would help out, but not too much as this was plugged by head. With the perfecdraw I was able to end up with a decent draw and it became a non-issue. 1 - Little rough on the retro with it stinging a bit. I'm getting a light sweet wood flavor at the beginning. This woody sweetness continues through the first third. But with that flavor there is also another...maybe a musty tobacco? Cream? Earth? As the third progresses, wood flavors intensity throughout leading the the 2/3. Also a note - this first third took me 50min to smoke. I was getting wispy smoke but I didn't have to relight or touchup the cigar so it just burned slow 2 - Into the 2nd portion of the cigar, the flavors have gone to a light sweet wood to a intense wood note. Sweetness has subsided so left with a dark wood note. Strength has gone up considerably. Wood is really the only thing I get. With my drilling with the pefecdraw, the cigar starts to unravel a little. 3 - The wood note is still intense and I'm gettting my fill of the cigar and put it out soon after I take the picture. Overall - 5.5/10 - a little above average. I rated my first one a 5/10, so good to see it's progressing. Difference between then and now is the first third has calmed down a little and I was able to pick up more flavors than before. 2nd and 3rd were still really strong, so hopefully with another year or so, they'll mellow a bit and I'll be able to get more flavors in those thirds. In my notes I had "Prez said needs 3 years" 2
