Popular Post rcarlson Posted October 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2022 Can't say I have seen much of the RASS over the years . . . until now. Every one from this box has been da bomb. Don't know if it's just an evolving palate, the quality leaf that has been rolled over the last few years, or some cosmic force that I must follow. I'll go with all three. The much maligned RASS, at least among the circle of FOH posers I deny associating with outside of the forum, have got 'em all wrong. Yeah, you don't brag to your friends about your box of RASS, and they ain't gonna get you laid. But if you have a box like these, to hell with the posers (you know who you are). I'll smoke 'em in private. Da. Bomb. Near perfect construction. Dense, smooth, oily, excellent draw. Just the right resistance. Opens kinda mild. Leather, cedar, hay, nutty, toasted tobacco. Nothing all that remarkable in the first inch. Just pleasant. Things got cooking a little further in. Through the middle, the richness came along. Creamy, nutty, sweet spice, and that light tangy fruitiness that I suppose has been described as stewed fruit around here but I wouldn't know. Never had stewed fruit and wouldn't know what to do with it if I had some. A wisp of sweet balsamic is the best I can do to describe that tangy thing that came along. The body and flavor move to medium-full as it warms. Closes with ample smoke, creamy, leather, tanginess, leather, tea, cedar. Balanced, rich, tasty. Nubbed the hell out of it, which I would've done even if it sucked ('cause, you know, that's how I roll), but this bad boy was worth the blistered finger tips. Delicious. If all the RASS worked it like these, I'd buy a mastercase and keep 'em all to myself. A+. Probably gonna graduate summa. Love it when regular production beats expectations like this box. 11
