This cigar is the yard warrior for many here. Cheap and chearful? well not as cheap these days but in comparison to others Robustos/Hermoso 4  it is a bargain.

The “creamy” Quintero. This is the most approachable Quintero format, and the one I’d always recommend to someone wanting to explore the marca (this or the PQ). Big fan of Quintero here, and in particular of the (current) Panetelas (Favoritos nowhere to be had anyway).

As for peaking, the other, older formats are proven to be long-distance runners. So appears to be the Favoritos, while - together with the Petit - they are the ones that might be enjoyed youngest.

How would you guys describe it flavor wise considering its a SF? I've been always curious about it but not sufficient enough to try since I had poor experiences with SF before...

I find Quintero to be one of the brands with the most unique flavour profile. Medium to full flavoured, with a, for me, very typical hearty woody-leathery peatiness. The Favoritos, however, shows the least of it. It’s perhaps what one could describe as the most “mainstream” format, with a pleasing sweet creaminess.

Don’t let yourself be fooled by the tripa corta notion. Sure, they’re of a much simpler making, and so there’s a reason for their pricing (and mostly they are not “pretty” cigars). They may be lacking a pronounced evolution, but these cigars are undoubtedly made of quality tobacco and can develop great complexity. May appear a little rough when young.

Not trying them means missing out.

Completely agree. Totally worth trying, and I like them a lot.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I will give them a try as soon I can put my hands in one. I tend to like the sweet creaminess that you mentioned.

They may not aim to be everybody’s darling, but you certainly can’t go wrong giving them a try.

I prefer the Tubos for consistency--but when a Favorito is on it is a pleasant surprise.

I have had my share of duds though.
