Back to Cuba and the current administration. Between the 15 Billion so far in Ukraine and the estimated 500 Billion in student loan forgiveness I am sure we have the ability to help our southern neighbors. As mentioned above, it will sadly come with many strings attached. Striping travel restrictions to allow volunteers to get down there to assist is the very least that could be done.

Just because Cuba asks US for help, doesn't mean anything will become of it. And realistically Cuba won't see a dollar from the US.

Here is reality: There is no possible way in the current US political arena that (we) can offer any financial aid to Cuba. The federal gov't sending as much as a $50 bill would be attacked as "This administration hates America, with so many of our own people in need!" I am somewhat ashamed of what we've become. This is actually the moment were the Western block could invade Cuba with Red Cross/Red Crescent/FEMA/Docs without Borders, etc. and literally swipe the rugs from under the Cuban leadership.

It won't happen. Wouldn't look good before the mid terms...
