17th Wedding Anniversary Weekend

Weekend started with a camp out at my kids elementary school on Friday night. I was not overly excited about the event but it turns out it was a lot of fun. It would have been nice if I had a long enough extension cord to plug my CPAP in but the soccer field is a long way from the main campus.  Who needs to sleep anyway…

Saturday morning I woke up and put together a giant trampoline. That was the morning… and some of the afternoon. After putting together the trampoline it was helping my nine year old with her school project. Evidently there is a dog that needed a wanted poster, a very very large wanted poster.

Sunday consisted of rebuilding several garden boxes and prepping the garden for our winter crop. Next was removing all of the furniture from two rooms to install hardwood floors and lifeguard practice. I don’t know where my spine is but I’m pretty sure it’s not in my back where it’s supposed to be.

I did manage flowers and tomahawk steaks and now I am enjoying a wonderful cigar.

Despite all of the back shattering work, it was a great weekend. I have the best wife on the planet.

As an aside, that steak was the best piece of meat I have ever put in my mouth. It was my first try at grilling a tomahawk steak but it turned out perfect and was buttery smooth to eat. I think I hurt myself.

Is it really necessary to empty two rooms to do lifeguard practice? Can't you just sit on a high stool and practice looking through binoculars and shouting out warnings?
