Popular Post gormag38 Posted September 12, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 12, 2022 My first stick out of a 2017 Seleccion Piramides 6 pack. 1/3 Great draw. Huge hits of toasted cream with some hay flavors. After about 15 minutes bread flavors with some slight cashew creeps in. All while maintaining creamy overtones. Burning with ease. Not a bad thing to say so far as it’s quite complex so far. 2/3 Hay turns away, as does the cashew flavors. Toasted bread with cream finish is the prevailing tone. Easy smoking with no rough edges so far. Not as complex as it started, but very good none the less. By the end of this third it’s a total cream bomb. 3/3 The bread notes are almost gone as they transition into a more lightly roasted tobacco flavor. To my surprise the cigar actually got much lighter at the start of this third, it reminded me of a finely aged Hoyo. I think I lucked out by getting such a great cigar after only 5 years down. Overall great transitions throughout and a truly great smoke. I can only hope the other five marcas in the pack perform like this!! 95/100 9 1
JohnS Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 You wouldn't believe it, but I'm going through a BRE Sep 17 Combinaciones Piramides box and the H.Upmann, Hoyo de Monterrey and Romeo y Julieta varieties have been as brilliant as this one you wrote about in this review. I'm looking forward to having another one from the box today! 2

I saw your comment about the Combinaciones packs when talking about the RyJ Pyramides in the "Retail Stinkers" thread. Honestly it gave me the nudge that I needed to break into this box. So for that, I thank you sir. Because this stick was truly great! 😃 I'll be looking forward to reading your reviews on the other sticks from your BRE box. I hope they all are great for you! 2 1
JohnS Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Well, I can confirm that the Partagas Serie P No.2 I had earlier today (from the BRE Sep 2017 multi-brand selection box) was similarly brilliant. Now I need to set aside some time in the next day or two to write a review that will do it justice! 😉 2 1
