I had a Short on Friday, Lusi yesterday, and it’s the Goldilocks robusto today: the Partagas Serie D no.4.

This is one of my best smoking boxes right now. Only just over a year old but so rich and smoking so well. Appearance, aroma at cold, construction and draw all great. Quite a dark wrapper, and thin with great sheen.

One thing I really love about a good D4 is the transition. No single flavour is too dominant. In a relatively short space of time you go from that mid-bodied bready sweetness, to a much darker, toasted, spicy smoke. What a great journey, and this one delivered it in spades.

Given how many of these are made, the recent consistency has been amazing. Tons of people seem to be having a good experience with PSD4 right now.
