Popular Post RDB Posted September 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 3, 2022 It’s another fine warm day here in London, but how long can the weather last? Surely not that many more opportunities for a Lusi this year… I’m about half way through this UEB NOV 18 box, and they have all been good to very good. Great construction here, bit of a box press, perfect draw from a moderate punch. Wrapper is a bit darker than the photo appears, with a nice sheen and slightly toothy feel. Starts off with the classic mild opening. Hay, milk coffee, touch of sandy earth. A gentle giant. Burn is pretty much spot on. As usual with these I forget to keep it going once in a while and need a relight, but that’s my look out. About a third in we’re getting richer. It’s like a progression through white sourdough, to wholemeal and eventually dark bread. The sweetness peaks in the middle of the smoke around 45 minutes. Then the coffee and toast flavours start to dominate more, with burnt elements. Body ramps up a lot in the last third, and I feel like I’ve had enough nicotine with a few inches to go. Well, cigars are meant to be fun, so I put it down at that point. After this lovely smoke I was in the mindset to solve problems, finish a tricky piece of work, and then lie down on a sofa! Score a solid 1 on my binary scale. 10 1
