Popular Post Akela3rd Posted August 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 29, 2022 The Edmundo is my favourite from the Monte stable - reliable, rich and when it's on, a deeply satisfying cigar. This particular example comes from the end of a rather good PSP box I bought a couple of years ago. The initial plan was to lay them down but...y'know... when they're good from the get-go, have at 'em.Construction, looks and cold draw are all good with a perfect weight and a hint of rosado. The Monte chocolate is there before lighting and after, with the initial voluminous smoke output reminding me why I like them so much. Paired with a rather good NA cider with enough bite to cut through the richness. First third starts off clean and full, milky chocolate and leather and just a little sharpness on the edges. Into the middle of the cigar things develop and grow, all the elements taking their turn at the forefront - sweet at times, beautiful cedar, almonds, always that reminder of Cadbury's Fruit & Nut (the best chocolate bar, fact). Slight wobble on the burn line but nothing to be concerned about and a solid ash that just doesn't want to let go. Strength comes up a little towards the end but gradually and gracefully, taking me with it and not forcefully. Very satisfying and another winner from an excellent box. 9/10 all day long.
