Popular Post Tdm_86 Posted July 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2022 Had this fat bastid today. For the average NC this is quite modest in girth at 6x50. These are apparently made at Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua. Pre-light Quite nice looking maduro wrapper. Rolled like many of these boutique NC’s: rock hard but once cut a pretty open draw. Cold draw tastes of sweet raisins and hay. First third Well, it certainly lives up to it’s name. The draw flavor is all rich, sweet chocolate with a little chili tingle on the tongue. The retrohale is smooth and adds something fruity that’s not very defined. It burns really nicely and is pluming with smoke. Second third The flavors are still mostly chocolate and the sweetness is now a dark one like molasses. The retrohale is now definitely raisins. Still burning perfectly and maintaining about 1.5 inches of ash at a time. At the end of the second third a bit of coffee and cream starts fleeting in. Final third The chocolate remains, followed by that coffee and cream flavor. The retrohale is now adding a nutty quality to the raisin sweetness, maybe like trail mix. Smoked it to the nub. Conclusion Thoroughly enjoyed this one, it’s all the qualities I like in a cigar. Very smooth and sweet, but gets more defined the further you smoke it down. Impeccable construction, just an allround great experience. I would take this over a mediocre Monte 2, but not over a great Monte 2. Smoked this in 1hr40mins. 92/100 8
