Ugly cigar from a mediocre box. I bought it blind, maybe I deserved it...

Fair bit of cigar glue repair work required to seal up this natty looking, cracking wrapper. Every stick in this box has the same dull look.

I usually keep Montes at a slightly higher humidity. But this box hasn't been good there. This stick was at 62rh for a few weeks.

It helped. Best one from this box to date, which makes it average, with some good moments. Draw a little tight, generic citrus, stale hazelnut, plain wood, hint of cocoa powder. Nothing harsh or off with it, though.

Proceeds like that for the first 1/2. Then gradually intensifies and improves enough to bump it up a point or two.

Band slides right off. Doesn't hold a candle to the PLPC the day before, or against the AMP DIC 21 Monte 5 I had a few days back, which was fantastic. 88/100.

Almost put it down and smoked something else but the improvement on the second half made me stick around.
