I had my first Casa Fuente about 2 weeks back or so. IT was just straight wood for me, I would much rather have an Opus at that price point.

That's been my experience as well. I haven't been a fan.

The slimmer ring-gauged vitolas are much better (as are all Cameroon wrapped Fuentes) in my opinion.

The Lancero is AMAZING but too difficult to come by since it’s not a regular production size and is rarely available to the general public/walk-ins, if at all.  So other than that, the Corona Gorda would be the next best thing and is a fantastic smoke.

Outside of that, you’re much better off with the other Casa Fuente “Series 5” line that come in 3 slightly varying Robusto/Double-Robusto/Robusto-Extra sizes.  These are the same tweaked Opus filler/binder blend used in the Casa Fuente blend but with a Ecuadorian Rosado wrapper; definitely for the better, but still really enjoy both.
