I bought a 5 pack of Monte 3s (no box code provided) and inside the box there's some good staining from the caps and various contact points.

Is there any rationalizing a general age for how much color there is on the paper? I know that wrapper color/oil varies but I figured I'd ask the more knowledgeable crowd if anyone has noticed a trend.

What were the bands on these? A, B, C or D?

Could be the result of oil, moisture or both.

D, with the bands being quite loose. I guess providing a picture of the staining may be helpful!

As I expected, the picture seems less colored than it does with my eyes, but any thoughts here would be great.

From the photo, those appear to be oily wrappers. Maybe just the picture, but…

My bet would be the stains are just oil from the wrapper leaf. So I’m with @Habana Mike

There are only 4 in the box; guessing you already smoked one. If so, how was it?

Had one last night, I had pulled it out to dry box. Terrible.

Sorry to hear that. Always a disappointment to anticipate a good smoke and then be let down.

I’m not a big fan of the Monte blends, and I find them to be very hit or miss. The exception these past two years is the No. 2. Many on The Forum are showing a lot of love to this classic torpedo which seems to be hitting all the right notes of late.
