RyJ ESCUDOS OEB MAY 2007 (FRCSW3)

After a run of wonky weather we woke up to a glorious day so I decided to take an Escudos for a spin late morning whilst doing a bit of work from the downstairs coffee shop.

RyJ has always been my brand and “escudos dadda” is what my 2 year old says when she wants to say excuse me daddy, so I want to love the hell out of these smokes.

The reality is perhaps a little less magical, but the sun’s out, WW3 hasn’t started yet, so let’s not get too hung up on details.

 

Start - lit well, lovely smoke output, flavours kicked in straight off the bat - the honeymoon phase of this cigar.

I was drinking some chai with this, not the Indian sweetened kind but the stuff from M&S. lots of sunlight, lots of wind, lots of work, not ideal but hey ho.

The middle part got a bit thin and dry and frankly a bit disappointing. 7 year itch phase.

Then the last third started getting downright sexy. Suspenders, twerking, some real body and grunt. Before I knew it I was burning my fingers and wondering where the time had gone.

 

Overall 3 out of 5 on my strict 1 - 3 - 5 rating system (no 4’s or 2’s or half points).
