Ryan Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 This won't help tobacco supply in the short term. It's probably not that big of a deal in the overall scheme of things but there is more export-quality tobacco grown in Artemisa province (between Havana and Pinar de Rio) in the last few years and certainly some of that will have been lost. From the pictures, any tobacco in that building is burned or damaged. Possibly caused by pilones of tobacco spontaneously combusting. http://www.cubadebate.cu/noticias/2022/02/06/prensa-local-reporta-incendio-en-la-escogida-de-tabaco-en-san-antonio-de-los-banos-fotos/?fbclid=IwAR3zAm5uAvrxwXWLw6g2bJM0bxs54MBtWx-98b5-WC5e9ylaOxivX5df-_c "A fire occurred in the early hours of this Sunday at the Escogido of San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, as reported by communicators from this territory in the profiles of the Assembly of People's Power and the Administration Council. After learning of the events, the Fire Department went to the area to reduce the damage, and there are no injuries or deaths from the incident. Even so, they will evaluate the causes that started it, and actions to recover the damage caused. Ricardo Concepción Rodríguez, governor of Artemisa, arrived at the site to accompany the municipal authorities and interact with the neighbors, at this time, he announced on his Twitter account." 1 2
