I heard about Jake Wyatt cigars from a podcast where the owner or someone associated with the company was raving how their cigars left a long and luscious mouth feel/finish. Naturally I was inclined to try it. I bought their lancero sampler and this was the first one I tried. I've seen some special edition cigars with ornate patterns using different color wrappers, but Jake Wyatt has the going on on their regular production cigars, which is pretty interesting. Initial inch or so started with toasted hay, that transitioned into a more generic grass note. There was a little sting of pepper on the retrohale but nothing unpleasant. There rest of the cigar had me tasting some nominally bitter grass/hay/woods. The mouth feel was no more luscious than most other cigars I've had so that was a bit of a bummer. Maybe vitola has to do with it but not sure.
