Padron for my second cigar of the year. Padrons are usually lauded for their construction, which has been what I have found; but I tend to find that the draw to be a little looser than I prefer. Initial puffs brought out a pleasant toasted tobacco/wood notes. After the first inch I picked up more earthy notes. The retrohale had a strong pepper note that made me not want to do it again with this cigar. No notes of pepper were noted on the tongue throughout the cigar. For the hell of it I did retrohale again in the last third and the pepper still burned my nose and almost made me tear.
