What the…? Strange Humidifiers for 100, Alex.

Hi wise Oracle - Merry Christmas.   I recently won a gorgeous leather covered humidor at auction (see pic), but the only identifying mark is Natuzzi.  Natuzzi makes fine leather furniture, but I’m guessing little about proper humidors.
The strangest thing was the humidifier element.  It is, or was, a glass tube threaded at both ends capped with silver perforated ends.  The tube was previously broken, and a previous owner had artistically taped it back together.
There was nothing in the tube when received.
The positioning of the clips makes me suspect it had been retrofitted, but am intrigued about the humidifier: Uncle Google has no clue.
Anyone seen anything like this before?

Cheers,

If we recall the old humidors and cabinets, then humidification was carried out quite simply there - a damp cloth or sponge. I think a wet cloth was also inserted into your capsule. If I were you, I would make a new glass and use humidity beads
