Popular Post cigaraholic Posted December 6, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 6, 2021 Grand Prix Sunday mornings are not when I would think of reviewing a cigar, it’s just grab a Churchill, cup of coffee and hit the play button. I decided to smoke something a little more special to me because I was lucky to grab a couple of boxs of these. Not a size I would normally go for but put a PL band on a turd and I’d buy it. PL is by far my favorite brand to have with coffee in the morning, post breakfast breakfast of champions. Beautiful looking cigar, big gold band and deep colorado color. Very well filled with a perfect Cuban draw. Didn’t weigh it but I can tell from the next cigar in the box it was a little over 18g. Got my coffee, lit the cigar and hit the play button. I was glad to hear I wasn’t the only one worried about this race, putting F1 cars on a track built for go karts is a recipe for disaster. Opening flavors are classic PL, toasted tobacco, cedar, coffee and cream. Medium bodied, very smooth, even I can retrohale it. A little further in light cinnamon shows up and the cream sweetens. 30 minutes in red flag to clean up a crash which means 30 minutes until a restart, that’s when I figured I might as well review the cigar. Race gets going again and the cigar is burning perfectly, straight and slow. Body goes a little over medium and the caramel shows up. The cigar is firing on all cylinders but another red flag, another 30 minute delay till restart. Not a problem, the cigar is heavenly and I always have plenty of extra time on my recording. Race resumes, the cigar leading with earthy tobacco, caramel, creamy coffee, hazelnut and cinnamon. What a morning, fantastic race and the cigar has me lost in cigar heaven. I timed it perfectly, race and cigar finish at the same time. What I couldn’t believe is this cigar lasted 2 1/2 hours, never expected that long a smoke from this cigar. I believe I took this picture 1 hr and 15 minutes in. No touch ups, no relights, stayed a little over medium body for 2 hours. Plenty of legs left in these. 9
