karp Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 This is a 2020 Robusto as per the title of course. Wrapper is a colorado maduro, lighting makes it looks a bit dark. Cold draw: standard hay and barnyard. Nothing unusual. First third: Initial flavours are vegetal, mild pepper and mild nutmeg. Smooth and somewhat leathery. Second third: Flavours slowly intensify and a bready taste emerges, with a slight twang. Vegetal spices are stronger now, and hint of hazelnut begins as well. Smoke is voluminous, ash and burn nice and straight. Last third: Burn requires a touchup but not major. This is a smooth but definitely full-flavoured cigar, it’s palate-coating, not mild at all. Toasted hazelnut is prominent, and some hints of cocoa and light caramel sweetness round it out. Stronger nutmeg as the smoke approaches its end. Excellent, this did not disappoint in any way. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 overall, which is top notch given my crude scoring system. 1
