Popular Post MrBirdman Posted October 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 17, 2021 Been a while since I enjoyed a Reyes, and at least a year since I grabbed one from this box. I thought I’d finished it but found it buried with a few sticks left. I was interested to if time would add some elegance to the relatively robust Reyes profile (by Trini standards anyway). Used my BR cutter and found the draw remarkably easy for the RG, though still within acceptable limits. Reyes seem to have a relatively high incidence of plugs so I was pleased no surgery would be needed. Cold draw was pure milk coffee, reminded me a lot of the Davidoff Grand Cru No. 2’s I’ve been enjoying lately. First half: A smooth cream-coffee and cinnamon donut flavor, classic Trini but with a smoothness more characteristic of a Fundi than a Reyes. Second half: Intensity builds fairly rapidly around the halfway mark, becoming black coffee with pumpkin pie-spiced donuts now. Burn problems begin to develop requiring touch up, which are always dicey with a smaller ring gauge. Begins to get a bit hot towards the end, but nothing too bad. Overall, a really nice smoke with my morning cup of tea. Glad I have a few left in this box, as time has treated these quite well. 92 7
