Popular Post ChangBang Posted September 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 20, 2021 Smoked a Punch punch last night after watching the raves beat the chiefs. I've had a couple in the past and they've been relatively average, not too complex, easy smokers. Felt light in the hand, so only gave it a punch cut to reveal a good draw. Gave it a light and we're off! 1 - Initially I'm getting a clove spice to the cigar. The spice is somewhat strong and makes my eyes water a bit if I try to retro the whole thing. I've had this since February, so I'd guess it's a mid-late 2020 cigar? Anyways it is up there in strength and spice and after a bit the clove gets weaker and I'm getting more of a ginger-ish spicyness like the side dish you get in sushi restaurants. That flavor dominates the rest of the first third. 2 - It's more of the same but a little dirty. Mostly due to my constant relighting - this cigar refused to stay lit! I'd go from taking a draw, smoke pouring from the foot...to an unlit cigar 20 seconds later. After my first picture I had to relight it - figured maybe I took too long with the picture or maybe that's when I got a drink out from the fridge(sprite) so I ignored it. Kind of just taste a hot bitter spice now. I also cut it again with a straight cut and poked it a bit with my draw tool to see if that would help my issues. Kind of, but not really. 3 - I put it out after the above pic, usually I smoke more but I was over the cigar with the constant relighting and the flavors have gone downhill by that point anyways. Only new flavor was a little nuttyness, but otherwise harsh spiced tobacco. Overall - 3/10 - I did not enjoy this cigar experience with it's fireproof wrapper. The flavors initially were pretty good, but after maybe the 4th relight in the 2nd third, it was trash. I still have 3 left from the 6pk I initially bought and this was by far the worst one. Hoping the others are better! And I'll probably not smoke another for a year to see if it smooths out a bit. 6 1 1
