This is from a part box I bought a couple of years ago not long after I first got into the rabbit hole of cigars. I’ve had around 10 of these over that time, the last I had before this was the end of 2020 as they were bought as a cheapie that you don’t mind ditching early if it gets a bit cold.

From memory these are ok smokes, no real flavour other than a sweet generic tobacco.

I wasn’t planning on having one of these again before the weather in London gets colder but this is a prize I’d love to win so hopefully I can get a couple of others in this week as well.

Wrapper is very rustic, straight cut just on the very top of the cap, draw is fine but the short filler causes some loose tobacco to get stuck to my tongue on the cold draw.

Opening is surprising, the sweet tobacco taste is now nutty, no spice on the retro just very smooth.

Ash holds on incredibly well for a short filler, smooth nutty ness continues for the entire first half.

I tapped the ash off around a cm after this is the burn had gone a bit wonky. Slight touch up and it was fine.

Second half the flavour moves from nuts into a strong coffee, retro starts to get a bit peppery but still smooth.

Smoke time was 50 minutes down to the last picture, ash held on perfectly again but at this point the smoke got a bit hot and it was mainly a strong tobacco taste so this is where it ended.

Overall much better than I was expecting, nothing spectacular as you’d expect from a Quintero but great value for money. I’ll definitely be looking to pick a full box of these up.

I have many boxes of these and Londres Extra. Early on the Petite was pure cardboard. Fast forward a few years and I do get sweetness and nutty flavors you described. Had one last week that blew me away for a 3 dollar cigar. I like em as if I get one thats not up to par its pitched without the guilt!!

Nice review!
