Popular Post joeruby Posted July 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 12, 2021 Smoking time -52 mins Reason for choosing vitola - It’s cold… Dont smoke that often in our Melbourne Winter maybe one a fortnight. It’s not for lack of desire, but conditions outside are always a factor for me. R&J No2 Tubo with a few years of age is worth exploring. Last one of a 15 pack. Floral, toasty aroma at cold, constructin looks perfect. Draw upon lighting is perfect. Lots of velvety smoke. Very mild. First third is of slight toast, hint of coffee not much sweetness, maybe touch of chocolate at the after taste. For an aged 6 yo cigar, I’m a little disappointed flavours have not developed further and are rather flat. Second third more of the same, draw and burn are great. Looking for some sweetness but only getting blandness. Feel like I’m just going through the motions and waiting for it to end without anticipation of further improvement. Final third has picked up in strength touching on full. Toast, wood and hint of nuts is the closest I can describe to any meaningful flavour. Draw is still perfect holds ash well but a bit of a flavour flop, particularly also having a few years on it.. Getting a bit hot towards the end of the cigar and time to put down and go inside, and out of this bloody cold night! Overall, a very average 84 5
KCCubano Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I had never had one until former in law brought some back from the Island 2 yrs ago. No idea on age etc. They were fantastic. Maybe got lucky? Nice review.
Connoisseur Kim Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 Interesting to see one of the recommended CCs for beginners by cigar B&Ms in Korea @joeruby! Unlike FOH, RyJ Mille Fleurs seems to be under the radar in my country compare to No. 2 Tubo. I personally don't understand why Korean cigar B&Ms always list RyJ No. 2 Tubo as one of the CCs for beginners (I rather recommend newbies to puff staple PCs on FOH such as Cohiba Siglo II; HUHC; Monte No. 4 & No. 5; Party Shorts; RyJ MF & PR than RyJ No. 2 Tubo). 2
yossie Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 Kim, I think They recommend the #2 due to a tubed cigar. Most of beginners even don't know what humidor is. 1

Much agreed. I remember one of B&M's staffs told me I can use tubo as a storage when I bought Cohiba Siglo II Tubo (tubos aren't definitely same as humidors; tupperdors; coolidors; etc TBH). AFAIK, RyJ #2 is still considered as one of the cheap CCs in Korea, so I believe its price makes B&Ms to list it as one of the beginner friendly CCs too.
