Popular Post Shrimpchips Posted July 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 12, 2021 Another day another minuto. The core of my rotation is minutos, given the typical 45-60 minute smoke time that tends to work so well for weeknights. The BCJ is no exception and probably comes up next most frequently after the Partagas Shorts. Picked these up on a two box deal after reading the repeated praises of the 2019 MSU box codes by @Chas.Alpha Prelight aroma is light, a bit of tannic woodiness. Draw is on the slightly loose side, but that’s fine by me. 22:17 Opens with big full flavor profile dominated by a toasted hardwood with a coating of espresso. Think of wood that’s just before the charred phase, giving off rich earthy aromas. Smoke is smooth, but strength is full. 22:38 first third and no real transitions, as I find is usually the case with minutos. Maybe a bit smoother and balanced between the wood and espresso, but full flavored nonetheless. 22:50 The band comes off and into the last third. Sweetness picks up a bit, as the wood fades just a little more, bringing up an earthy espresso flavor. 23:05 And I’ve nubbed it. Total smoking time just over 45 minutes, a bit on the faster side for me. 6
Chas.Alpha Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 The fact that you didn’t actually burn your fingers leads me to believe that you enjoyed this? I didn’t steer you wrong, at least... 😀
