Ken Gargett Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 » » I have had plenty of great Monte C yet I know many of you disaggree (Ken » detests them). » » Love the Partagas Pirimide and the HDM Epicure Especial :-P "detests" is such a strong word, yet not strong enough. i still have most of the box of that sad pile of compost called monte C. what a waste of time and money - cannot believe you foisted that heap of dung on me (you would be in strife if those lusi's had not be so spectacular). must say i have not had a monte D yet and won't be rushing after the above thoughts. monte not doing well, yet the robusto and DC were terrific, i thought. did someone bag the partagas pyramides and hoyo's? two of my favourite cigars, not just fav LE's. and there may be no right answers but there are clearly some wrong ones - i'm working my way through the cohiba pyramides at the moment. they were damaged but i am still getting some good things here, although they are very minty. sublimes - have not looked for a while as i think the longer they can rest the better. the ones i have tried ranged from stunning to a bit green.
PigFish Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 » I have had plenty of great Monte C yet I know many of you disaggree (Ken » detests them). I agree with Ken. Monte "C" is a ****! -piggy
MrQ Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 » Must be a lot of variation in those new Monte 'D's, I've heard everything » from 'a fantastic chocolate bomb' to 'a complete dud'. I was in Canada and smoked two D's from the same box one was just ok the other was an absolute dud:-(
Jimmy2 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Ok Loki i will bring a couple of the Mag 50's you will change your mind ..:-D
Loki Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 » Ok Loki i will bring a couple of the Mag 50's you will change your mind » ..:-D Sounds good brother.:-)
Bill Hayes Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I found the Romeo pyramid to be disappointing. Just flat and one dimensional. But the draw, burn and construction were exceptional. Then again, I'm not a Romeo fan. Where for art though flavour? I like the Partagas D1. You just know they'll get better again with age. Same with the Cohiba DC and the Hoyo especiale.
MikeDeSilva1 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Hoyo Epicure and the Cohiba Pyramide for me. Haven't had the Monte D yet so no comment. I loved the PSD3 and the RyJ Robusto EL
Shooter Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Although certainly not an unpleasant smoke--I'm still waiting to feel "wow'd" by the $600 box of Cohiba DC EL's I got roughly a year ago. Smoked three so far and all have had great construction and burn, but the flavors I get out of SLR, Lusi's and Punch to name a few are much more pronounced. Time will tell.
Fatshotbud Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I hate this question..... Still sitting on all my recent EL - no comment Sleep my babies -- sleeeep.
