Popular Post KavalanWhisky Posted June 26, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 26, 2021 Booked a staycation in a local Hotel for my wedding anniversary and brought along a few sticks to smoke but chose the worst 3 days to try and sneak a cigar in as it was heavy rain all three days ðŸ˜Â I almost gave up hope of getting a cigar in to celebrate making it another year when something miraculous happened I had a late check out and my wife and son were having their nap after lunch and the sky's had cleared and I had found my window to get a smoke in. I rushed down to the hotel bar and had my pick of spots as it was just past lunchtime and no one expected to be drinking at an outdoor bar. I found a perfect little spot and set up, I had a choice between Bolivar Silver Jubilee, Juan Lopez GB regional, Cohiba Esplendidos and a vintage Mag 46. Went for the Bolivar as it was a HK regional and thought it was apt as I stuck in HK. The bar had some soft jazz playing in the background that was the perfect atmosphere to light up and celebrate the occasion. Photo 1 Paired with a nice white rum and honey drink that was a great palette cleanser. I've smoke one of these ROTT when I got a sampler from a friend but tbh it was not a great smoke so was hoping that after a year of rest this would be better. Boy I was not disappointed, it started out great, very nice smooth notes with big punch of flavour that reminded me of a lovely BBF. It had hints of almond and hazelnut and grassy notes. Photo 2 The music was a lovely backdrop for me as I normally don't play music when having a cigar, I normally watch a movie or am with friends and enjoy their company. I was really enjoying the drink and the ambiance of being alone in a bar with music and my own thoughts as company. Photo 3 Construction was phenomenal throughout, only had to ash twice and didnt have to touch up at all. Smooth and creamy smoke that didn't transition too much flavourwise but i really enjoy nutty, grassy and cream notes so I was happy to smoke this all day long.  Photo 4 Didn't end up nubbing it because I had to go back to the wife and punch in my clock as we were meant to be celebrating together 😉 Overall would rate this 91/100 and I'm glad I have 3 sticks left for future special occasions.  7
Chucko8 Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Nice descriptive review buddy. Congrats on the anniversary!! I have to admit that the last one of these I tried didn’t really light my fire either, which was over a year back. Perhaps it’s time to take another out. 1
