Notsocleaver Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 I've got a bit of Port Askaig 110 proof (think young cask strength Caol Ila if that helps) that I'd like to pair with a nice Cuban cuban. What would you reach for?
Goodfortune Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 I’d personally reach for something more towards the “full” side, to stand up to the boldness of the scotch. Maybe a Bolivar PC 2
ChanceSchmerr Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Party Presidentes or Lusi with an Ileach is always a winning combination. 1 1

Jooners Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 R&J wide churchill may be quite good or a RASS. Cherry / fruit notes I think would go quite well with Islay malts. Oban Distillers Edition 2018 & a 10 year aged H.Upmann No.2 is a pairing I had recently and was next level.
billyh79 Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 I drink a lot of peated scotch. My experience is the stronger cigar the better. Boli PC, partagas shorts are two I smoke often. I feel like the flavors of a QDO are lost with scotch that flavorful. ‘I had some Lagavulin last night with an older RJ belicoso and the scotch was too much for the cigar.
