For me these - along with the PLPC and Monte 4 - are some of the best value Cubans available, so this is an ideal review week for me.

The draw is a bit tight, but the perfect draw makes it perfectly acceptable. I always know what I’m going to get with these: a dark cocoa flavour predominates from the off, with a touch of coffee and a very slight creaminess. The retrohale gives a strong liquorice note.

There isn’t a great deal of transition, but that’s absolutely fine by me as I love these flavours. The cigar becomes slightly sweeter as it progresses, like a touch of sugar has been added to the cocoa, otherwise it’s more of the same. The cigar stays nice and cool throughout, and gives 1 hour 35 minutes of smoking satisfaction. Not the best from this excellent box, but a solid 90 nevertheless.
