Vegas Robaina Unicos BRE JUN 18 (L&SRW2)

Coming up to three years, and I’m trying to go slow on this box because it has lots of potential.

VR is a marca where there’s a lot of flavour variation within each vitola. This box of Unicos has moderately dark wrappers, but it doesn’t display the rich chocolate and fruit flavours this sometimes signals. Instead the flavour signature is of strongly aromatic exotic wood. It’s very nice. Some tropical sweetness certainly, and a touch of char too - not dirty ash but a pleasant darkness to the smoke. Campfire in a rainforest (but with nice dry wood and no mosquitos).  

Moderate body, maybe a touch over medium. Perfectly good draw and a somewhat wonky burn that a few more years should even out. Tons of smoke in typical torpedo style. Relatively even flavour profile throughout until the last third gets a bit much. I think this will become an increasingly refined, perfumed smoke.

I really enjoy this cigar as well!  I find it's a great change of pace cigar to have in the line-up.  Great review!
